Black Jack Article

Black jack, also known as the game of 21, is probably one of the most popular casino and home card games today. Whether you live on the strip in Las Vegas, or in the suburbs of Illinois, chances are you, or someone you know has played and won a hand in the game of black jack. If you are someone who is not familiar with the game, here you are going to have the opportunity to learn about the game, and strategy.

Choose Wisely

When you are walking the casino floor and looking for your table of choice, it will be important to pay attention to the minimum or maximum bet allowance at each table. If you do not know what this means, it basically is a warning light, letting you know what the minimum bid for that table is. Often times they are in increments such as ($5, $25, $50 and $100). Those are more popular bets for black jack. There are usually signs in the front of each table, letting you know what the min. bid is. Often times they will be color coded for quick glance as well. Once you have decided what table you want to sit at, based on the dollar bid, than you should decide if a horseshoe table is best for you.

If you are a new to the game, this is where you want to start. The difference here is that the dealer can assist you with your game, and all cards are dealt face up. This is more of a tutorial than a “real gamble” but there is still money to win and lose at these tables.

When you start out at a horseshoe table, there are often more decks being used. Once you get the hang of things and you are ready to take it a step up, and perhaps try a regular table, you will find that they play with less than 6-8 decks. In the beginning, it would be advised that you play your first few rounds at a horseshoe table to learn the game. Stay at these tables until you are confident you can walk away a winner from a regular game of black jack.

Buy-in

Once you have sat at the black jack online table of your choosing you will want to buy-in to the game with chips, on average it would be acceptable to buy about 10% of what your average bid is going to be. So if you are a $10 bidder you need to consider buying $100 worth of chips. This is all a game of chance, and depending on what you want to play, that is going to help you determine how many chips to buy at one table. Remember once you have placed your bet at the center of the table, it stays there until the end of the game; you may NOT touch the chips during a game.

Knowing the game

Obviously the point of this card game is to have the cards in your hand equal to 21 or as close as possible without going bust (which means going over 21). In this game, you do not have to worry about what the other players at your table have. This game is certainly about you and the dealer. You want to have better cards than the dealer.

Black jack is a fairly easy game to master with time and practice and a great way to get your feet wet in the world of cards.
